NVMPH
has arrived at Bloodline
Sweden strikes back with a new band entitled "NVMPH".
Delivering dark, harsch electrobeats
from the south you can expect, according to the label's
pressrelease, a mixture of EBM / Industrial /
Electro in tradition of bands such as Leaether Strip, Funker
Vogt or Wumpscut. The band's first
album "Nuclear 45 is dead" is now out on Bloodline.
MIDNIGHT
CONFIGURATION finishes new album
Midnight
Configuration are getting very close to finishing off their
follow up album to last years successful "Dark Hours
Of the Southern Cross" release. The title of the next
album is "Redemption of the Physical World" and
it is hoped that the album will be out in time for this
year's Carnival Of Souls festival on the 21st of October.
If not for then, the CD will be out before Christmas. The
direction of the new album very much follows on from the
last album. However, according to the band's label, the
material does dive in some controversial and original musical
territory. To coincide with the release of this album, MC
have decided to play a series of dates around the UK from
the end of October up until early December.

SIMPLE
MINDS cover Kraftwerk
Simple Minds will release "Neon Lights", an album
of cover songs, on September 24th. It will be the band's
first recording for Eagle Records, home to other 80's acts
such as Gary Numan and Robert Palmer. The record will, as
previously announced, consist of interpretations of classics
by Kraftwerk, David Bowie, Echo and the Bunnymen, Roxy Music,
Patti Smith, the Doors and the Velvet Underground among
others. Simple Minds are currently working on an album of
new material that they hope to release early next year.
Their last studio album, "Our Secrets Are the Same",
remains unreleased. Completed in 1999, the recording is
at the center of a legal battle with EMI, the band's former
record company.
NEGATIVE
FORMAT leaves Gashed!
After a successful 3-year relationship, Negative Format
has parted ways with Gashed! Records. Negative Format's
Alex Matheu approached Gashed!'s Eric Deegan in early June
requesting release from their Recording Contract Agreement
and the outstanding option of a remaining full-length release.
Negative Format will also purchase the remaining units of
2000's "Distant Pulses" and 1998's "Result
of a New Culture" for sale directly through Negative
Format's website. At the same time Gashed! will return the
masters for both releases.

Not
so amical split by Assemblage 23 from Gashed!
After losing Negative Format, the Canadian electro label
Gashed! Records is now also loosing Assemblage 23. Apparently
this split was not on amical terms as a (now removed) message
posted on the band's website explained that both the label
and artist were looking at the situation with their respective
attorney. Assemblage 23 will however continue to work with
Accession Records.

Concrete
Nature close to sign Euro-deal
Brand new news from Gashed signee Concrete Nature. Although
the band is still discussing matter of spreading out ":encrusted"
in Europe, it seems that they shall have a goal with a UK
label. Michael: "First Sunny, Soenke and me thought
to establish our own record company called Gomorra Media,
due to the fact that we are sick and tired about the labels
in Germany, which promised everything and executed nothing."
The band is currently working hard onto new material. Previews
of the material will be available onto CN's MP3 section.
