FESTIVAL that is being prepared . Be sure you'll get information
about all stuff soon ...
THE

pioneers Dirk Ivens and Marc Verhaeghen from the middle
of eighties . The album to be broadcasted is their debut

second album of their side project DIORAMA , Diary of Dreams

NIGHTBREED
shop and mailorder stops activities
All
good things must come to and end. Nightbreed informs that
as of December 31st, Nightbreed The Shop and Nightbreed
The Mail Order Service will officially close. But, before
they go, they are having what they call "the Mother
and Father of all Gothic/ Industrial clearance sales".
The closure of the shop and mail order service do NOT mean
that the label has ceased its activities. The Nightbreed
label will continue as before releasing and nurturing progressive
Gothic as well as Darkwave and Black Industrial music, like
it has always done.
LAUDANUM
back in studio
Laudanum
has started work on their second album entitled "Ijon
Tichys last revenge". Be aware that this is just a
working title. The album should be finished early 2002.
A releasedate is set for May 2002. Co-producers will include
Thomas Elbern (Escape with Romeo), Olaf Wollschläger
and Adrian Hates (Diary of Dreams). At the moment is not
sure on which label the album will be released, the band
is seriously considering setting up an own label. We'll
keep you informed. In further news the sound of the new
material will be more electronic and poppy but still very
tragic-melodic.
ABSURD
MINDS at Club Metropolis in Copenhagen DK
Good
news for the danish Absurd Minds fanbase. For the first
time ever the German Absurd Minds are playing at Club Metropolis
in Copenhagen, the day before they are playing at a big
festival in the Hamburg Markhalle with among others, Diary
Of Dreams, Assemblage 23, Cut Rate Box, Dive, Monolith and
Kiew. Check out the club's pages for details.
THE
CURE only via the internet
The new CD "The Best Of" of The Cure (November
13th) will be the last album of the band on a record label.
The future releases of the band will only be distributed
via the Internet and surely their website. Robert Smith
wants to take advantage of all the benefits of the Net to
spread his music without the commercial and artistic pressures
of a big label. The band has also confirmed that they have
recorded four new songs yet and that Smith is currently
working on his first solo album with a lot of interesting
collaborators.

A Remix Album And A Competition
For ALPHAVILLE
Nothing is better than a remix album by the young generation
to boost a stagnant carreer. German synthpop legends Alphaville
recently release their remix album "Forever Pop",
in GAS (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), Czech Republic and
in Slovakia. It contains mixes of their classic hits such
as "Forever Young", "Big in Japan" and
"Sounds Like a Melody". Among the remixers we
can find Paul van Dyk, Georg Kaleve (De/Vision), and José
Alvarez Brill (Wolfsheim, De/Vision, Care Company) as well
as a host of other names. In conjunction with the release
of the remix album, a competition has also been launched.
The goal of the competition is to make a remix of "Forever
Young" with tools and samples provided by the competition
holders. The main prize is a trip to Berlin and a meeting
with Alphaville. Unfortunately the competition seems to
be limited to residents in Germany only
A New Single For DEINE LAKAIEN
The long awaited new single from the German legend simply
entitled "Generators" is out. The first edition
comes in a valuable paper pack, has two versions of "generators"
plus two exclusive extra songs, the video and a multimedia-part.
The song is a typical graceful and calm Deine Lakaien track
with the so warm voice of A. Veljanov, a memorable refrain
and the Horn sound touch. To have your own opinion, visit
their site and listen to the title track online. The new
album is planned for 2002. It is also confirmed that Michael
Popp and Christian Komorowski have left the ship. "The
band regret this step but it was vital for saving the project."
